Design notes / FORMA JOURNAL

Made to feel better with time.

The material story behind Form 01 is about texture, restraint, and things that earn their place.

Begin with what you touch.

A physical object has to make sense in the hand as well as in a drawing. Our concept begins with a softly textured aluminium shell, a clear front face, and controls that can be found without looking. The small details carry the everyday experience.

Let a surface do its work.

A fine satin grain catches the light on the aluminium enclosure. The woven speaker grille and machined tuning dial give the front face a quiet rhythm of different textures. The three finishes share the same form, so a choice of colour changes the mood without changing the idea.

Design for a longer relationship.

A replaceable component is more useful than a sealed promise. The Form 01 concept imagines accessible fasteners and a serviceable front assembly, so the object can be cared for. These are design intentions for this concept, not claims about a manufactured product.

Choose what belongs.

Chalk, Oxide and Graphite were chosen to sit alongside stone, timber, textiles and the things people already own. An object can be distinctive without demanding the whole room. That balance is the material brief.

A little attention changes what you hear.
